Why is it that I work out every day but cannot perform the step test?
I work out every day (elliptical, treadmill, bike, and weights) but when I went to do the step test today (where you step up onto the bottom step of a bleacher and step back down repeatedly,) I couldn't do it. My legs were weak and I was very very short of breath. Is there a reason for that?
Because running up and down a step like that is probably more challenging to do than the other exercises. Your body isn't used to using those muscles that way.
