3 Tips to speak at a joint hearing

As a speaker, there are times when you might be addressing an audience or an all-female audience men. Unless the issue is addressed only to women or just men, however, you find that in most cases, your audience is mixed. The question is how mixed they are and what matters? The answer is yes.

There is no doubt that it is easier to talk to women than men, and if your audience is composed of more women than men, regard it as a female audience. In that sense, it has more freedom, because women react more easily than men. They are faster to respond with laughter and is laugh louder and longer than their male counterparts.

When my audience is composed of most women, I will discuss more personal issues that I know the situation was reversed. I am also more likely making jokes about men (and women) - although I do it with ease. My topic on the capabilities of voice and presentation easily lend itself to humor. If I had to front of an audience to all men, however, I would not, under any circumstances, a joke about men, although I would have no qualms in admitting weaknesses female.

Suppose you have a relatively uniform division. What are the rules in this situation? My advice is:

1. Unless you have been invited to discuss a topic dealing with religion or politics, I would avoid problems like the plague. It is best if the public does not know their feelings about these issues. While you can certainly talk about sex, whether it relates to your subject, not too descriptive.
2. Do not discuss personal problems unless are part of the theme and showing how it solves. If your marriage is in trouble, for example, the scenario is not the time nor the place to talk about it.
3. Under no circumstances should use language that could be considered offensive. "He was a man in front of a combat unit in the army, yes, it would be out with the questionable language, but overall, the scenario is not the place for language that is considered vulgar or indecent.

As a public all men is certainly the most difficult to address, you will find a mixed audience much easier due to the presence of women. Once women are reactive, so too will men. The latter will feel much less evident in their vocal response if others around them are in agreement and show it.
