What kind of wood floor that work well with honey oak cabinets and trim?

We may be buying my parents and I would like to see hardwood floors in much of the house. The problem is all honey-oak (I'm not crazy about), doors, moldings, furniture, baseboards. I'm not willing to finish all exsisting wood, so I plan to continue with oak. What floor is displayed next to the baseboards honey oak? Maybe a verigated floor having a bit of honey color here and there? I do not know.

Oak has a strong pattern that we will take into account that for any flooring you are considering. I would avoid maple or anything but clean and fine grained like oak dominate and not just look good. I work in a shop floor and answer this question a lot in the course of my work for a little while to think about it. My suggestion would be turned over to the oak and put down oak. To update the look, you might consider a hand scraped look and go lighter or your existing cabinets dark oak. Dark woods are hand scraped very hot now, you'll see all the design magazines. For a dark floor, it is important to have enough light and enough space to avoid creating a "cave."
