Question about lace knitting pattern and knitting stuffs.?

I want to lace knitting a 600s* 600R shawl, and I am using a 0.7mm wide lace yarn. How many ounces should I get the yarn? And how many 80cm (31.4 feet) cir needle should I have?

And what is the pattern stands for?
Between the "yo" sti, what is the sti?

I am gonna use 2.10mm wide needle, 80cm long needles, but I don't know how many needle should I get.
my book doesn't list how much yarn should I use to knit the shawl.. that's why I don't know how much yarn I will need. It's a old book... The pattern is complicated, so I think maybe I need more yarn than usual. And I don't know how much needle should I get is because it would be 600 stitches on the needle(s). Would 1 80cm cir needle can handle it?

Doesn't your pattern list how much yarn to buy? It usually is right near the beginning of any pattern. The needles should also be listed. Most of the time, you only use one circular needle at a time.

I say get one needle and two balls of yarn. I can guess that two balls of yarn will NOT be enough, but say to get two because then you can see how far those two go and so you'll know how much more you need to buy. Be sure you get a yarn where the dye lot is easy to match. Some yarn dyes are now computer-mixed, so on those yarns there is no dye lot anymore. It's all the same, no matter when or where you buy it. If it proves impossible with one needle, go back and get a second. I still think you'll only need one.
