my son is 12 and has been suffering from white hair. The size of ten pence pieces. What is the cause ?

It first appeared at the age of 8 around the size of a ten pence piece. More and more are appearing.Is it worth going to a doctor ? Do you know the cause ?

I had a friend in school and his hair almost 60% were white by the age of 13 ,his doctor had said its due to overconsumption of soft drinks like Coke and Pepsi.
Do consult a doctor about this.
