The figures show that the UK consume more alcohol

Britain now imports more wine than any other country in the world. As a nation we imported a total of 1.6 million bottles in 2007, equivalent to thirty-five standard bottles for all adults in the country is absolutely staggering. wine The average British adult now drinks 12% more than they did just five years ago and is expected, consumption will grow far beyond that figure. World wine consumption is increasing in recent years and expected to grow considerably. The United States is expected to eventually become largest consumer in the world in 2012. The United Kingdom is 13 th in the world, in terms of consumption per adult and Britain despite being a massive importer, the amount you drink is overshadowed by neighboring European countries like France.

Red wine and white wine sales are increasing as well as champagne, whiskey and cognac. This is certainly caused an increase in the sale of nearly all drinking glasses, including glass vases and simple whiskey glass. The British public consumes 720 million bottles of red wine and 764 million bottles of white wine in 2008 and that number is expected to grow in 2009. But red wine is rapidly declining in popularity, as the white wine and rose wine have a higher proportion of the industry growing market.

Wine Merchants have been busy over the past year. In addition, reports have indicated that many wine accessories such as vases glass jars and dishes have been selling very fast as a natural complement to the wine. The thirst for wine is set to deepen in emerging economies like China and Russia, whose consumption levels are expected to soon surpass that of Spain, another country that is historically associated with the wine. It was predicted that the financial and economic crisis affecting many countries wine consumers around the world have only "limited" impact on growth in the wine sector. The report provides incredible growth over the next four years or so in line with the pre-crisis trends. Either way it's a crazy thought.
