Toeless Pantyhose

Dressing cool when temperatures soar!

This morning I woke up and was in the top 80. I have no air conditioning and it's not a pretty picture! I live by the ocean, however, in a typical summer has maybe 4 or 5 days (maximum) when the heat is unbearable. This year and is different and it is only July!

You see my schedule said he could not stay home and wear my summer dress teal near the house. I was meeting with a client in Denise Hajjar (a designer from Boston) to choose the fabric for your wedding dress. Not a pretty picture of dress when temperatures and humidity soar (a unless locked in a house with air conditioning). Believe me, nothing feels good when it is hot and sticky.

Everything I've seen in my closet was drown. striped pants ... nop. Lined jacket ... definitely not. A long sleeve jacket ... forget that. I was fast running out of options. What remains? A dress? Well, hmmm ... which presents a range of other considerations.

I wear pants most of the time as very few people have seen me in a dress. Not because I like dresses. I do. Is the redhead whole thing white, freckled leg. It means putting on socks, and I prefer to avoid whenever possible.

That said, I realized that a pair of socks (toe-unless I could wear open shoes toe-Peep) was much more preferable than pants and a jacket. Therefore, I put my plain dress Joseph Ribkoff, beautiful jewelry, grabbed a cardigan in case I needed and headed out. I have a starting immediately met in the bank on my way to Boston. The best thing was that I felt summery and not committed (even using the means!).

So, what Here are some tips to dress well when you have to be outside in the heat?

Dress in layers. This way you can be cool walking outside (or sitting in his car waiting for the air conditioning to cool), but professional looking office.
Skimmed milk your body. Use tight-fitting clothing will only increase the annoyance factor. Wear clothes that skim your body, show off your shape without being stuck to your skin. (This is good advice no matter what season it is!)
Choose fabrics wisely. Cotton and linen are ideal to dress cool in the summer. However, some of you have a strong aversion to clothing (and I know some of you love). In general, the clothes look better when it is aligned (which might make it less attractive in a hot day) or when mixed with other fabric to help control the wrinkle factor. Cotton is great, but again, it is often best when mixed with other fabric to help keep its shape. Simple jersey dresses are fabulous microfiber and virtually wrinkle-proof.
Lighten up your colors. Dark colors absorb heat, so wearing lighter colors or brighter can help you feel cool in the literal sense and on an emotional level - because they are more cheerful than the dark colors on a bright summer day.
Sleeve length. 3 / 4 sleeves are your friend. Somehow just exposing that part of the forearm feels much colder than sleeves and yet still have a professional feel. (Be careful with sleeves trimmed. Although they are everywhere flat arms really very few!)
summer legs. Well, this is a topic that many want avoid and some will want to be vehemently disagree. If you work in a conservative field and wear a dress or skirt, yes, socks are important. They add a sense of professionalism, elegance and decorum. Save the bare legs of more casual situations. You do not have to wear pantyhose, however, do wonders thigh highs and stockings are toeless that are fabulous.
