I have huge dark red/black stripes down each toe after surgery & need to reduce the scarring.Does Vit.E work better than Mederma?Plus it's keeping it totally moist and don't scabs hav 2 dry out? I asked my doc & he doesn't really know.PLEASE help!
your best bet buying vitamin E, is to buy the oral capsules, bust or cut them and apply the oil from the capsule. it is more pure and doesn't have as many additives as the creams. iu = international units. you should let the scabs dry out or fall off first or you will macerate the wound and prolong healing time. to dry it out and keep bacteria at bay, soak the wounds in betadine and epsom salts (with water) twice daily.
