What is the difference between interlock and jersey fabric?

I am in the uk looking for 70 denier 100% polyester interlock (as it is called in the states). It is used as a stretch lining for sewing things like sheer tops. I cant find it ANYWHERE! anybody know if there is another word for it here?

Interlock is a fairly stable knit that I doubt I'd use for lining a stretchy top. It's also rarely specified as denier, at least in consumer fabrics. Could you be looking for a tricot? It's a cheap, stretchy, fairly stable knit that does make good linings (and "knit satin" and "knit chiffon").

Jersey is a single knit, knit on one side, purl on the other -- like the typical t-shirt knit. Rolls on the crossgrain when stretched; interlocks and tricot don't.
