Do pantyhose protect you from small biting insects?

Do pantyhose protect you from small biting insects such as mosquitoes, ticks, biting flies, spiders? Would it work if you wore pantyhose not only on your legs but also on your arms?

I would take a pair of thigh-high pantyhose and cut the seam near the toes and put them on my arms from my shoulder down to my wrist, then gloves on my hands. Would this be able to stave off insects?

No, the proboscis of small insects is usually too small. They can already find openings in the stitching of other clothes, and there are plenty of small openings on pantyhose as well. You're better off wearing thick clothing even though that doesn't always work either without a repellent. You wouldn't be protecting yourself much anyways since mosquitoes and biting flies will often go for exposed skin if they can find it, so your face becomes a problem. Ticks on the other hand will just crawl around your body until they find a spot they like, so it doesn't matter unless you somehow had your entire body sealed off. Spiders are one that it maybe could work for, but you can't have the attitude that everything out there is going to bite you either. If you're just walking around you're not exactly going to be crawling with spiders, so there wouldn't be much opportunity for them to bite in the first place.
