What kind of snake is this; Black & Orange in color rings?
My sister inlaw almost steped on this little six inch long black & orange color rings snake in prescott valley and she said that it did
strike at her but it missed. She just wants to know if it is dangerous or not. Thanks
Black and Orange: she probably missed the yellow rings. It was either a King snake, totally harmless, or a Coral snake a most dangerous snake w/ neurotoxin in the venom. The only way to tell them apart is by noticing the sequence of the color of the rings, and I don't recommend sticking around or getting that close to do so.
