Telling a Friend Something?

I have a female friend that I have known for about four years. We've known each other since college and get along very well.

We've opened up a lot about each other, and in return, has made the relationship stronger. In other words, we trust each other quite a bit. Which leads me to this point.

I wear hosiery a good amount of the time (opaque tights and pantyhose), and I even wore them when we first met for warmth reasons, and then I wore them because I liked the feel of them. This is something that she does not know about me.

I'm meeting her for lunch sometime this month (we meet now and again), and I've been on the fence on whether or not I should tell her. On one hand, I tell her, and it creates a distance in our friendship. On the other hand, I tell her, and it creates a better understanding of our friendship.

Is there anything to gain by telling her, or should I keep this to myself?

Why do you feel the need to tell her about your personal choice of underwear? Think of it this way, would you tell her that today you are wearing your red low rise briefs? See how strange that sounds? Any discussion of your underwear would probably spook her a bit; no matter what you were or were not wearing.
