The Lolita Look that is Capturing the Souls!

Know, first, who you are; and then adorn yourself accordingly. Fashion and style is closely related to a country or community's tradition and culture. Every region on earth has a unique distinct costume culture which eventually spreads and popularizes in many other areas. Lolita is one such fashion trend and sub culture which has its roots in Japan. It has now gained wide popularity and recognition all over the world. Many famous world class designers have experimented and created some timeless designs inspired by the Lolita style. The world is shrinking and this has made all different fashion styles and trends to come together.

Gothic Lolita, sweet, punk and classic Lolita are the main classifications and all of these have an underlying statement of simplicity and modesty to it. Lolita is a style which brings out the beauty of a woman in a subtle and decent manner rather than going for a hot or sexy look. This style itself is inspired by the Victorian and the Rococo times and has a vintage feel to it. This comes out in its ruffled puff sleeved blouses, knee length skirts with petticoats and laced fabric. While gothic Lolita is dark color based and more suited for women, sweet Lolita is ideal for young girls and uses light pastel and natural colors.

The overall make up is natural to smokey and the doll like look is very famous. Lolita being a simple and modest style, referred to dressing up like dolls. This is where the laces, ribbons, ruffles and half dresses originated. Sweet Lolita especially is a hit among girls and young women. Frilled and laced clothes are worn predominantly in pinks and whites and many cute accessories like parasols, teddy bears and other toy and doll stuff are carried along. A young girl's innocence and cuteness is what Lolita is all about. Though Gothic and classic Lolita types are more mature than the sweet Lolita classification, they maintain this innocent spirit too.

Even this style of costume requires the use of certain accessories to bring out the essence fully. Head gears to foot wear are designed specifically to suit the Lolita theme. High heeled leather boots, plat form shoes, pirate boots and saddle shoes are most commonly used. Except for sweet Lolita, all other types usually recommend dark colored shoes with knee high socks and stockings. This is the time for all of us to embrace this evergreen Lolita style!!!
