Types of Glue

Glue is an adhesive item that comes in a semi-solid form and is used to bind things together. It is used on all manner of items ranging from paper, wood, plastic, fabric and rubber. Different materials require different types of glue to stick them together, because glue comes in varied binding-strength for varied materials. One type of glue is the cyanoacrylates, which is commonly used on items like metal, plastic and rubber.

It comes in many brands and is known for its adhesive power. Some of the brands are Super Glue and instant Krazy glue, which are very common brands in many markets the world over. One disadvantage of the glue is that, it is highly toxic and the smell itself is strong enough to choke one to death. Foam craft glue is another category of glue, which is used in craft sheets to glue them together.

It can also be used on fabric, paper, plastic, wood and cupboard. Glitter glue is a type that is available in a bottle that one has to squeeze in order for the glue to come out. It is a multi-purpose type of glue, which can be used for both decorative and adhesive purposes. This is because it comes with a shiny luster and other bright colors. It is mostly used on paper, wood and papier-mâché.

Glue stick is packaged in a small bottle-like dispenser that looks like lip-balm. To dispense it, you need to turn a knob that is fixed on a small lidded canister. If you have never seen it before you could mistake it for something else because the product is white in color and sometimes clear, and when it dries off, it leaves the surface very clear. Some come in a purple color, but the result is the same when it dries off; very clear you cannot trace it.
