How to care for twisted foot/ankle?

Yesterday, i was walking in flip flops, and i tripped. I twisted my ankle and landed on the side of my foot. It isn't broken, but really hurts. Should i use some ace bandage?

Best thing is to stay of your foot for as long as you can during the day. Also I would suggest some ice packs, bandages will not help.
