How can I stop my dress from riding up?

I recently bought this adorable little black dancing dress that I was planning to wear this week to a semi-formal dance. The left side is cut up so that the fabric only goes to about mid-thigh, and then it slants down to my ankles on the right.

The problem is, the material is pretty elastic and the left side always rides up so that it gets REALLY short.. I'm wearing pantyhose underneath it but I was still wondering, is there anything I can do to make the material stop riding up? I heard someplace that you can use hairspray or something of that sort?...

Hair spray or static cling spray will work if you can not find some fashion tape.
