Bed Sheets, Comforter Set or Bedspread – Things to Consider Before Buying Twin Bedding

There are important things to consider when purchasing bed linens such as sheet set, comforter set, bedspread or mattress pad for twin beds. When purchasing twin bedding, it is a good idea to make a list of the precise needs.  Shopping is easier and quicker when you know exactly what you want. What are the things to consider in buying twin bedding?

First and foremost know the exact size of the bed.  Twin beds come in different sizes. An extra long twin bed is an oversized bed designed for taller teens. It is five inches longer than a standard size twin bed.  Regular bedding will not fit in an extra long bed. This size is common in dormitories.

A standard twin bed or single bed is designed for one person. Its size is 39 x 75 inches. It is often found in daybeds and trundle beds. It is popular to kids and getting bedclothes for this size is easy.

It is difficult to find bedding for extra long twin bed.  However they are available during back to school sales in summer.  It is easier to find bed linens online, particularly sheet sets for extra long twin beds.

If you are not certain as to the exact size of the bed, it is advisable to measure it before proceeding.  If you decide to find the products in a department store, be sure to take the measurement with you.  In that way, you can compare them against the list of bedding.

After the issue on the size, what kind of bedding do you intend to purchase? A sheet set is recommended if you want to buy bed sheets and pillowcases only.  Sheet sets come in neat packages of top and fitted bottom sheets with matching pillowcases.

If there is a need to buy comforters, bedspread, blankets, with other decorative pieces such as European pillows and shams, a bed in a bag set is a good option.  Some bedding ensembles include other pieces aside from the regular bed sheets. It is far less expensive to purchase bedding in sets that buying them separately.

The choice of fabric is another matter to consider. Cotton, silk, linen, flannel bedding is readily available. The need has to be satisfied in buying the type of material.  If it is intended to be used in winter, flannel can be very insulating. Polyester fiber may not be comfortable to kids. It is necessary to decide ahead of time the kind of fiber you prefer to preclude other fibers thus, saving time and energy.

While other people do not mind thread count as an important thing to consider, others prefer higher thread counts for balminess and durability. Of course the price is higher than low thread count bedding.

The last thing to consider is the pattern and color of the bedding.  For simplicity and adeptness to coordinate with other bedclothes, bed sheets must be in solid colors. Patterned bedding may not be appealing to other peo
