What are these tiny black and yellow bugs in my bedroom?

I have only ever seen them in my room, and they are really starting to annoy me. They are very small, maybe 0.5cm long, black and yellow, and look like a type of beetle?
They have been nestling into the most annoying places. Like my bags and such, although I did just find one, strangly, in the light on my wall. When I see them, they are alone however, and not in a bunch.
What are they, and are the harmful?

From your description they are Carpet Beetles, Anthrenus verbasci, very common and harmless. They feed on breadcrumbs, dead insects and so on.

Keep the vacuum cleaner working regularly and quickly remove any spilt food. Put valuable clothing in sealed containers. These measures should bring the situation under control but if the problem persists it is time to call in the experts.
